Is There Anybody Out There?

The Kelowna Museum always seems to highlight a particularly interesting topic and their current exhibition 'Is There Anybody Out There?' explores the history of amateur radio communication in the Okanagan, whether serving the community, aiding the emergency services or simply being used by enthusiasts. In Kelowna, broadcast pioneer George Dunn operated a "spark set" Morse code radio station in 1912, later transmitting voice instead of code to broadcast 10-AY into Valley homes in the 1920s (When Tarzan Dan was born!). There's lots of cool old stuff to explore and interesting facts to read! Tonight was the private Members opening but the exhibition is now open to the public.
